"I never had a new patient,
the animals I care for
are simply my new furry friends." - - Jeffrey Sutarik, DVM

After graduating from high school, Jeff Sutarik headed to Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana to pursue his life-long dream to become a veterinarian. He loved Purdue so much that after completing his undergraduate degree, he was thrilled to be accepted and ultimately graduated from Purdue University’s Veterinary School in 2005.

Dr. Jeffrey Sutarik immediately went on to serve clients professionally and compassionately with small animals at the Lombard Veterinary Hospital in Lombard, Illinois. When not working, Jeff’s life was full of joy and laughter. He enjoyed fishing, the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Bears and of course, anything Purdue. Most important to him was his wife Haley, their Yorkie, Ari and his beloved rescue-Lab-mix, Millie.

During Dr. Sutarik’s 15 years in practice, his passion for veterinary care for pets with aging owners became his primary concern. Dr. Sutarik regularly visited elderly pet owners in their homes to provide important and necessary veterinary care; often absorbing the veterinary costs for needy elderly pet owners.

Jeff also recognized the importance of animal companionship for aging clients. He understood that companion pets provide comfort, friendship, exercise, love, laughter, responsibility, stress relief and much more. Companion pets regularly provide the elderly with an increased quality end-life experience.

Unfortunately, Dr. Sutarik passed away suddenly on October 26, 2019. On that day, hundreds of hearts were broken. Make A Wag was founded as a tribute to his compassion and affection for his pet friends and his understanding the importance to assist elderly pet owners with needed veterinary care.

We invite you to share in Dr. Sutarik’s passion for animals and the need to assist elderly clients with veterinary care for their pet companions. Join us in celebrating his life and helping the elderly by donating to Make A Wag.
